Tell us your name, age, profession and anything you’d like to share.
My name is Brianna Rachele. I'm a 19-year-old aspiring blogger/stylist studying biochemistry and journalism in San Antonio, TX.
What are your personal aspirations/goals?
I plan on moving to NYC to complete my degree, intern in the fashion industry and focus on my personal blog. (The street style there is incredible and so inspiring!) I love the idea of becoming a stylist or a reporter documenting the newest designers, current trends and behind-the-scenes work. I do have a serious interest in science and technology as well. Because of the tech-heavy direction our world is moving in, I'm thrilled to see what new relationships bloom between the tech world and the fashion industry!
How has Polyvore affected your life?
I've been using Polyvore for four years now and I have become increasingly confident in wearing what I want and developing my personal style. There is no source I can attribute this to more than Polyvore. Whether I'm happy and bursting with motivation or feeling a bit down and lacking inspiration, it’s been a constant—a reliable source of creativity and friendships. I’ve even developed a new love for interior design! I dedicate hours and hours each day to finding inspirational sets, creating sets, talking to followers and making new friends.
How did you find Polyvore?
I actually found Polyvore through one of my favorite bloggers (@florencia95). Not long after she began using it, I became addicted and just had to create an account of my own!
How would you describe your set style?
Definitely classic and sophisticated, but with a touch of edge in the accessories or shoes. In the majority of my sets, there's trendy NYC influence and classic "French girl" influence alike. I always imagine myself wearing a set, so I try to create a complete outfit to get an idea of what that would look like on a person.
Where do you get your inspiration to create a set?
Definitely street style, hands down. I love the way Monica Rose (Kendall Jenner & Gigi Hadid's stylist) creates outfits that are out of the ordinary. I also love the model off-duty look (especially during NYFW, LFW, PFW & MFW), and some of my biggest inspirations come from bloggers such as Eleanor Calder, Max Hurd, Karlie Kloss, Danielle Bernstein and Florencia Rodi.
What are some Polyvore tips you would like to share with the Polyvore community?
Originality is my number one tip, always. Immediately following that, consistency. I upload at least one set every day and I now have many regular followers (Polyfriends). I would also suggest experimenting with different layouts when first using Polyvore—there will be one that eventually comes naturally to you. For me, it was the minimalist and complete outfit layout. And communicate! Polyvore has really fostered an amazing community here. Talking to different creators is one of my favorite things to do—there are so many interesting people, you're bound to begin friendships, find inspiration and collaborate.
Does your username have any special meaning?
It's my nickname paired with my middle name. I jokingly call it my "stage name." It's the name I use for anything fashion related because my middle name is French, and I adore French fashion!
Where do you live and what trends are big there?
I live in San Antonio, Texas, which is certainly a developing urban area, but it hasn’t quite grown to the standards of Austin yet. I've recently been spotting more fast fashion trends in the younger age group (16-25) and sportswear-inspired outfits everywhere. Due to the hot climate, comfort is usually the first thing people opt for in clothing, followed by breathability in material. So, there's tons of sportswear and sporty-luxe looks at the moment, and I'm getting so many KenGi vibes!
Describe your personal sense of style.
My personal sense of style is definitely feminine and classic. In my everyday style, I try to keep it minimal but refined with classic LBDs, ballet flats, a signature handbag, a favorite coat and my favorite Ray-Bans. I look to Gigi Hadid, Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss for chic everyday styling; Taylor Swift and Audrey Hepburn for ultra-feminine styling; and Kendall Jenner and Florencia Rodi when I need some casual sportswear looks.
What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?
For ethical reasons as well as her unique designs, Stella McCartney is quickly climbing her way to the top of my list, while Nili Lotan is my go-to for luxurious everyday pieces! I love the sportiness of Acne Studios, Alexander Wang and rag & bone; the glamour of DVF and Nicholas Kirkwood; and the ultra-luxurious Givenchy, Burberry and Mulberry for timeless style. I always come back to Yves Saint Laurent, though. If I had an endless amount of money, I would literally buy their flagship store and just live in it. There's such a timeless elegance to all that they create. There is definitely some edge behind YSL, but it's always done in a sophisticated way. I love that I can compare pieces of the newest season to pieces from the ‘50s and ‘60s. Yves Saint Laurent is the designer who I can rely on to create anything and everything I could possibly ever want (and need) to wear.
